Everton goes under the American flag. Its takeover by the American group Friedkin has obtained the approval of the competent authorities and is now finalized, announced the Liverpool “Toffees” club. The takeover, announced in September, received the green light from the Premier League, the English Football Federation and British financial authorities, among others. The club founded in 1878 belonged to Farhad Moshiri, an Iranian-British businessman who became a minority shareholder, up to 94%, in 2022. It passed into the hands of the Friedkin Group, already owner of AS Rome, in Serie A, and AS Cannes.
