The Confederation of African (CAF) has announced that the financial allocation for the winner of the CAF TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda 2024 has been increased by 75%. The winner of this edition will receive 3.5 million US dollars.

CAF also announced that the financial allocation for CHAN Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda 2024 has been increased to $10.4 million, an increase of 32%.

CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe said: “The CHAN 2024 which will take place in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda makes us excited and we have decided to significantly increase the financial prize for the winner to 3, 5 million USD, which represents an increase of 75%. We have also increased the financial allocation for CHAN Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda 2024 to 10.4 million dollars, an increase of 5 million USD. 32%.

“CHAN is an important competition for the development and growth of football players based in Africa and will contribute significantly to the global competitiveness of African football and CAF competitions. This competition is part of our investment strategy in African football in order to make it attractive to football fans, viewers, sponsors, partners and other stakeholders in Africa and around the world.”
The CHAN Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda 2024 will begin on Saturday, February 1, 2025 and the final will take place on Friday, February 28, 2025.

The following 17 countries have already qualified for CHAN Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda 2024: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Morocco, Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania, Niger, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo, Sudan , Zambia, Angola and Madagascar.
Two other countries will also participate in CHAN Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda 2024 after qualifying from the remaining matches.

It should be recalled that the draw for the final phase of the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship will take place at the Kenyatta International Convention Center in Nairobi on January 15 at 8:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. GMT).
