FOCUS – FC TARTAS ST YAGUEN – LANDES DE FOOTBALL DISTRICT

Focus of the week: FC TARTAS ST YAGUEN facing a turning point in the season.

This week, the focus is on FC TARTAS ST YAGUEN, a Landes team playing in Regional 3 (Pool I). Second in the general classification with 21 points, the Tarusates share the lead with LÈGE CAP FERRET US 2, but the latter are one game behind.

This weekend, they face LA BRÈDE FC 2, 4th with 17 points, for 11th championship day. A decisive match which could allow Tartas to take the advantage at the top of the ranking and assert its ambitions.

Meeting with Maxime LOUSTALOT, coach of the first team, to discuss their objectives, the challenges of the meeting, and the dynamics of the group.

Your team has had a very good start to the season, you are currently 2th of Regional 3. What assessment do you draw from this first part of the championship?

Maxime LOUSTALOT : The first thing to remember: it's good to rediscover the taste of victory!

I am very happy for my players who, for the most part (whether at the club or in their former clubs) have gone through complicated seasons. I am also happy for the leaders and the club, who are finding color again, whether with the 1st or the 2nd team also 2nd. So obviously, we will draw a positive result from this start of the season, because we would have signed to be where we are.

The second thing is that we deserve to be there given our performances which reward the seriousness of the boys. The new arrivals integrated very quickly and very quickly brought added value to the group, which allowed the veterans to express themselves more easily and perform better than last season.

All this combined with the return from injury of some, to give us a homogeneous group of quality.

What are your team's goals this season?

Maxime LOUSTALOT : We will be halfway there after this weekend's match, but we are not going to hide our faces, we are going to play our way back into R2 and try to start a new positive dynamic for the club.

There is only one climb, so we have no room for error, because there will be serious candidates: LEGE 2, TARGON, YGOS and LA BREDE, who we will meet this weekend . The team that is the most consistent will emerge victorious from this championship. It's up to us to make sure we are the one!

This weekend, you face LA BRÈDE FC 2, also a well-ranked team. If you win, you could take the lead in the rankings, even temporarily. How do you approach this important match?

-

Maxime LOUSTALOT : We obviously expect a difficult match.

We are facing a reserve team from a club which is used to playing at the High Regional Level, with a quality football school and which remains on a very good series of victories after a complicated start.

Especially since it’s a replay match! We were unable to play a friendly match to regain the automatisms, and there are inevitably questions about the physical state of the players after a break. Even though we have worked hard on this break, we will have to quickly get back into the rhythm.

Despite all these parameters, I remain confident, the players have always responded, even in the difficulty, so I am convinced that they will have a big match at home.

What do you think are the strengths and areas for improvement in your group?

Maxime LOUSTALOT : The strong point of this group, unlike last season, is the mental aspect, because we were in difficulty in certain matches, but we were able to bounce back each time.

The areas for improvement are more on the regularity of our performances and the way of approaching certain meetings.

Finally, ritual question in this “Focus” section, what message do you want to convey to your players and supporters before this 11th championship day?

Maxime LOUSTALOT : I would like to tell them that 2025 can be a great year for FC TARTAS ST YAGUEN and that we are going to need all the players available, but also all our supporters to achieve as many victories as possible.

I wish the best to all the Landes clubs for the end of the season.

Thanks for the focus.
