Dimitri De Condé, technical director of Racing Genk, was sentenced by the police judge to an obligation to install an immobilizer breathalyzer.
The 50-year-old technical director of Genk was caught driving under the influence of alcohol on December 10, 2023 after the Eupen-Genk match. During a police check in Heppen, he blew positive, which led to a more severe sentence due to his history as a repeat offender.
In December 2023, it was not the first time that Dimitri De Condé encountered problems related to drunk driving. In 2015, he had already been tested with 0.8 grams of alcohol per liter of blood.
At the time, he was fined 1,200 euros, but he was spared a driving ban. This time, the judge forced him to install a breathalyzer, a measure that will remain in place for a year.
In addition to the breathalyzer, the judge gave him a three-month driving ban and a fine of 4,000 euros. De Condé will also have to undergo medical and psychological tests, as well as retake both his theoretical and practical driving test.
Despite his legal problems, De Condé continues to enjoy sporting success with Racing Genk. The club is firmly at the top of the championship and will play the quarter-finals of the cup against STVV this Tuesday evening.
