the essential
The Cahors tennis club organized two multi-chance tournaments during this first weekend of 2025. An almost ritual meeting.
It’s now a tradition at TC Cahors: the first weekend in January is synonymous with competition!
Three or four matches for each player
Two tournaments were therefore on the menu for this sporting resumption: a TMC of twelve fourth series players and another, of the same size, for the third series. The competitors therefore had to play three or four matches (the best ranked in each table were exempt from the first round) between Saturday and Sunday.
At the helm, as always, the coach and referee Philippe Cujus who worked brilliantly during these two busy days. As for the results, in the fourth series, the final featured Gaspard Capel, former licensee of TC Cahors, now at the Barbossi club (Mandelieu) and Lucas Wojciechowski (Grisolles). Note that Gaspard was the youngest player on the courts during these two days since he is only 10 years old! He certainly lost this final but he had a remarkable performance in the previous rounds!
Towards the Thénegal Cup finals
In the third series, the poster for the final was unprecedented. Two Cadurcians were face to face but they had never met in a match until then. On one side, we found Jérémy Chedal, a regular on the Cadurcian podiums, and on the other, Mahé Béarn, on an upward curve at the moment. The two players offered the public gathered to applaud them a very well held game, with hotly contested points. It was a quality show to end the day and weekend. The winner is Jérémy Chedal, who knew how to transform the important points without trembling.
Note in the diaries the finals of the Thénegal Cup which will be held on January 18 and 19. Two teams from TC Cahors will be competing: the ladies on the 18th and the men the next day. This still promises some interesting gameplay.
