The Union Sportive de Gorée continues to reign over the Senegalese Ligue 1 with a new victory which further establishes its domination. Traveling to the Yoff Municipal Stadium on Saturday, as part of the 10th day of the championship, the Islanders consolidated their position as leaders by winning against Dakar Sacré-Cœur with a score of 0-1.
The only goal of the match was scored by Grégoire Sène, allowing US Gorée to maintain its invincibility since November 2. This victory brings their total to 23 points, giving them a comfortable lead of six points over their immediate pursuer, Wally Daan, who was held in check by US Ouakam (0-0).
In the other matches of this day, Guédiawaye FC (8th) got the better of Jamono de Fatick, bottom of the championship, with a clear victory of 2-0. For their part, Oslo FA, ranked fifth, triumphed against Sonacos, seventh, in a thorny match which ended with a score of 3-2.
This new victory strengthens US Gorée’s position at the top of the championship and underlines their ambition to win the title this season. The next meeting promises to be crucial for the Ligue 1 teams, who will try to catch up with the Islanders.
