Back to basics for the old Bruges resident

Perhaps and even undoubtedly you have not forgotten Sargis Adamyan, this Armenian international striker (31 years old, 36 caps, 2 goals), loaned by Hoffenheim to Club Brugge for six months, from January to June 2022.

He scored 6 goals in 16 matches before returning to Hoffenheim, who immediately sold him to FC Cologne for two million euros.

Un flop !

In 60 matches, Adamyan has only scored four goals, but none in the 2.Bundesliga this season.

Un  flop !

He was therefore rented to Jahn Regensburg (Regensburg), the club dear to the former Pope Benedict XVI, in order to relaunch himself by returning to a club where he had distinguished himself between 2017 and 2019 (69 matches, 20 goals, 10 assists).

“This loan will allow him to regain his confidence,” hopes the general director of FC, Christian Keller, quoted in the press release (https://tinyurl.com/2s3upfa9) of the Rhine club.

“Sargis knows SSV Jahn and its environment very well. He should therefore quickly readjust there. With finally a significant amount of playing time for him and, hopefully, goals and assists to come. He will help Jahn to stay in the division….”

“It’s important for me to play more,” says Adamyan.

“I am therefore looking forward to joining Regensburg, where I will have the opportunity.”

“But at the same time I wish the FC and my teammates to achieve the objective of returning to the Bundesliga, at the end of the season…”, concludes the former Bruges player.

Cologne first, Jahn Regensburg last!

FC Cologne, autumn champion (Herbstmeister) is at the top of the standings with 31 points after the 17 days of first leg matches.
