The victory that allowed the Baltimore Ravens to win the North Division title of the American Association on Saturday night was as routine as observers had anticipated. Except for a play in the second quarter that could shake up their dynamic attack.
Zay Flowers, the team’s leading receiver, suffered a right knee injury in the 35-10 win over the Cleveland Browns and did not return to the game.
After the game, head coach John Harbaugh seemed rather optimistic, but indicated that a magnetic resonance imaging test will be necessary.
The Ravens finished the season with a 12-5 record, despite losing their first two games of the season. This is one victory less than what allowed the team to post the best record in the NFL in 2023.
But this time, there will be no direct bye to the second round. The Ravens will enter the playoffs ranked third in the American Association and will have to play a game next weekend.
So Flowers doesn’t have much time to recover. The star receiver caught 74 passes for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns during the regular season.
With only four games remaining in the regular season, the Ravens were two games behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the race for first place in the AFC North. Then, the Ravens won their last four outings while the Steelers suffered four failures in a row.
“It’s a week-to-week league, and you just have to progress one week at a time, one day at a time, one game at a time. And our guys did a great job of sticking to that,” Harbaugh said.
