Standard tried for a former Beerschot player

Standard wants to strengthen itself this month. The Liège club is particularly looking for a central defender, a creative midfielder and a breakout attacker.

Barring a huge turnaround, Ibrahim Karamoko will be the first winter reinforcement for Rouches. The Franco-Senegalese defensive midfielder from FC is expected to join Standard for a sum of between 150,000 and 200,000 euros.

Ismaila Cheick Coulibaly

Before taking action for the former Virton player, Standard tried to sign Malian international midfielder Ismaila Cheick Coulibaly (24 years old). The now ex-Sheffield player himself revealed this in an interview with Africafoot.

“I spoke with Standard, Ghent, German and Norwegian clubs. I took my time to make my decision because I didn’t want to make a mistake.”

He signed in Austria

The former Beerschot midfielder (2020-2022) finally made the decision to join the Austrian club LASK for the next 3 seasons: “The project that LASK offered me immediately appealed to me. I have the ambition to play the CAN with Mali and for that, I need to play.”
