The Prix André Masséna – Grande Course de Haies des 4 Ans was sumptuous, indecisive and saw the victory of the courageous Mimetic. The filly trained by Julien Merienne quickly took the lead, then repelled all attacks until passing the post, bringing great satisfaction to her jockey, Benoît Claudic: “Three races, three victories on this track, it’s great for Mimetic ! It is the work that pays off for this high quality filly, who flies when she competes on the Cagnes-sur-Mer racecourse. The Riviera air and aperitifs (laughs) also did him the greatest good. She will now take a well-deserved vacation.” Launched into a sumptuous three-way fight throughout the final phase, the favorite, Proud Lucyfinally snatches first place at the expense of Shala Dancer (3rd). Not perfect in her jumps, Atrani was unable to follow the pace set on the second pass and had to settle for a “disappointing” fourth place, six lengths from the podium…
