These are difficult times that the team has been going through since its accident on December 15, 2024. “70% of the team are his best friends. Some are in youth together, others who have known each other since a very young age”continues the coach.

A car hit a road post from Battice to Thimister: “The extrication is in progress, traffic is slowed down”

A family club

At Ensival, all the players are linked because when one team plays, the others encourage it and vice versa. “Everyone knows each other and everyone gets along, it’s a family club. That’s why even if he hadn’t been there for long, everyone already knew him, he was a really nice kid!” summarizes François Genet.

On social networks, the messages continue under the basketball club’s post: “A hell of a little guy that we could only love” ; “Thank you for your encouragement whether on the bench or as a supporter of the Lady and P1 team” ; “Hello big guy, your smile, your cheerfulness, your good humor… for all that and everything else, you will remain forever in our hearts” ; “We will miss you terribly.”

The death which occurred on January 2 followed a road accident which occurred on December 15, road from Battice to Thimister. The player’s car hit the pole and he had to be extricated by firefighters. Following this, he remained in intensive care without his condition improving. “His condition was stable a few days ago but the brain stem was unknown. Following examinations, it appears that he may have had serious injuries.”

His parents made the difficult decision to let him go while allowing others to improve their daily lives through organ donation.

Karl Böger rests at the Clerdent funeral home in Beyne-Heusay, visits will take place from Tuesday January 7 to Thursday January 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. A tribute will be given in the ceremonial room of the Welkenraedt crematorium (rue de l’Yser), on Friday January 10 at 11:30 a.m.
