12,000 online hate messages recorded in 2024 according to the ITF

In 2023, the ITF joined forces with the WTA (the women’s professional tennis circuit) as well as the Wimbledon and US Open tournaments, to fight against the online hatred suffered by members of these circuits. Together, these four organizations launched Threat Matrix in January 2024, software that monitors social networks (X, YouTube, Facebook and TikTok) in order to detect hateful content targeting gamers.
