Winner in the semi-final of the Spaniard Jaume Munar, the Frenchman will play the second final of his career on the ATP circuit on Sunday.
Frenchman Alexandre Müller (67th in the world) qualified for the final of the ATP 250 tournament in Hong Kong by beating Spaniard Jaume Munar (62nd) 4-6, 7-6 (7/5), 6-4, Friday .
Müller, for his second final on the circuit at the age of 27 after that in Marrakech in 2023, will try to win his first title against Kei Nishikori (106th) — beneficiary of an invitation to participate in this tournament –, winner in the second semi-final of the Chinese Shang Juncheng (50th) who gave up at 4-3 in favor of the Japanese.
Nishikori, 35, former world No.4 and US Open finalist in 2014, returned to the circuit last spring, after more than two years of absence due to injuries. He will play his first final of an ATP tournament on Sunday in Hong Kong – the 27th of his career – since the one won in Brisbane in January 2019.
Müller, to reach the final, drew on his reserves by winning his four matches in three sets.
