The leadership of a company, it starts from the top. And the Rangers must be realizing that.

Whether it’s the fault of the owner or of Chris Drury, the president of hockey operations, it is clear that the atmosphere in the New York Rangers locker room is simply toxic.

We understood this for several weeks, let’s say.

It seems that every week, there is a new example that shows us how dysfunctional this organization is. And there we have a new example that falls into our hands.

And it comes to us from Zac Jones.

On the sidelines of a text which was written by Larry Brooks, we understand that the defender does not exactly adopt the Michael Pezzetta method (who would have the right to complain, by the way) to manage the fact that he is left aside by his trainer.

As he lined up to miss a fifth game in six games, Jones cried publicly.

Basically, the 24-year-old left-handed defender, who is in his fifth season with the Rangers (but only 95 games, as he has never played a full season in the show), thinks it’s rubbish not to play.

But he goes further.

It’s frustrating when you think you’re doing things the right way, but you still get left out of matches.

I feel like I’m rotting. –Zac Jones

I don’t think I need to tell you that the word “rot” is still strong, in the circumstances. And what’s also powerful is seeing him say that he’s not a 32-year-old veteran collecting his paycheck, but a young guy who has to play.

Looking at the standings, we see that the Rangers are in complete disarray.

Prolongation

Remember that a few weeks ago, Kaapo Kakko also complained publicly about its use. He said he wasn’t the worst player at the club and didn’t understand why he wasn’t playing.

Let’s also remember that he went to Seattle.
