A more delicate end to the year for David Hubert: “He can only blame himself” – Tout le football

David Hubert is coming out of his first successful months at the helm of Anderlecht. But after the defeat at Genk, the Mauves bit the dust again against Dender.

Anderlecht dreamed of another way to end the year. The Mauves were beaten 2-3 by Dender. The public did not hesitate to express their discontent with whistles. If David Hubert was surprised, Marc Degryse does not find Lotto Park’s reaction abnormal.

“Dender was simply better! It is therefore logical that the public becomes critical. Sporting does not play like the ‘big’ Anderlecht. David Hubert can only blame himself,” he declares in Het Laatste Nieuws.

Contested changes

The elder of the house was particularly surprised by the release of Yari Verschaeren : “He was in the match, this time in a central role, and scored a nice goal. After an hour, I wouldn’t have replaced him yet.”

“So, bring Samuel Edozie into the team, and if you really want to bring Thorgan Hazardhe could have replaced Mats Rits, for example, to bring a little more creativity to the middle” continues Marc Degryse.

David Hubert’s match management, praised for his first months, has been more contested since the last two outings: “Last week against Genk and today, they didn’t know how to approach the match. They played solidly at times but then made mistakes. They felt like they shouldn’t step on the accelerator every time.”
