Euro 6 standard: 24-month postponement for certain vehicle categories

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics announced the postponement of the application of the Euro 6 standard for certain categories of vehicles by 24 months. This postponement concerns categories M2, M3, N1, N2 and N3, while vehicles in category M1 (light private vehicles) are not affected by this decision.

This measure was made official through the publication in Official Bulletin No. 7361 of December 16, 2024 of joint decree No. 2094-24, signed by the Minister of Transport and Logistics as well as by the Minister of Energy Transition and of Sustainable Development.

The order supplements and modifies the initial regulatory text, No. 2835-10 of December 25, 2010, which sets the conditions for vehicle approval in terms of pollutant emissions and specific requirements relating to the engine and fuel.

This decision aims to facilitate the transition to more environmentally friendly vehicles, while taking into account the technical and economic challenges faced by players in the automotive sector affected by this transition.
