After his 8th place at the Super-G in Bormio in Italy, Nils Allègre admitted to profound mental fatigue. Cyprien Sarrazin's serious injury is still very fresh.
Nils Allègre's very special weekend ended this Sunday at the finish of the Super-G in Bormio in Italy where he took 8th place. “I managed to have a solid round, I have no regrets on this track. This is the best I could do in the conditions of the day, physical with this little gastro and everything that is emotional too… I did what I had to do on the skis and I managed to surpass myself today” conceded the native of Briançon, still overcome with emotion.
This Friday, Cyprien Sarrazin fell heavily during a training descent. Evacuated by helicopter to the hospital, the Frenchman underwent surgery to drain the intercranial hematoma contracted following his unfortunate incident. Even if the French Ski Federation has reassured following the operation, anger remains strong within the French clan. “We are a close-knit team so we talk to each other a lot and stick together in complicated times.” says Nils Allègre who subsequently admitted his mental fatigue.

This Sunday during the Super-G in Bormio, the Swiss Gino Caviezel also fell spectacularly at 100km/h. Like Cyprien Sarrazin, the 32-year-old skier was airlifted. This incident caused an interruption of around twenty minutes in the race.
