It’s tough for Justin Barron in Nashville

It’s already been 10 days since the Canadian sent Justin Barron to Nashville. In return, Montreal got its hands on Alexandre Carrier, a right-handed defender who would (ideally) come and solidify the Montreal brigade.

Because clearly, it wasn’t working for Barron in Montreal.

That said, while Carrier is making fans happy in Montreal, it’s a completely different story on the Nashville side.

After spending 13 minutes on the ice in his first game in town, Barron played the role of his team’s seventh defenseman yesterday…

And in just seven minutes of ice time, he found a way to finish his night of work at -3.

And obviously, we already seem to be getting a little tired of the young defender’s performances, while in training today, Barron was an extra.

We can therefore think that he will be left aside on Monday. It won’t have taken long.

In Montreal, meanwhile, Carrier is exactly what CH was hoping to get. Without being a spectacular player, he greatly stabilizes his team’s defensive brigade, playing big minutes and being effective when he is on the ice. And above all, he helps his club win matches.

I really want the Pres wanted to get rid of Carrier’s contract ($3.75 million per year for this season and the next two), and the sample remains thin. That said, after just 10 days, I wonder if the Predators feel like they’ve been beaten.

We bet on Barron’s potential, of course… but if we leave him aside after only two games, it’s not a great guarantee of confidence.

We will therefore see if things will evolve, but for the moment, the CH should not regret its transaction. For the Preds, it’s probably a different story.
