Renaissance Zemamra scored a crucial victory against COD Meknes (3-2), this Saturday, at the Ahmed Choukri stadium, during the 16th day of the Botola Pro D1.
Dominant from the first minutes, the Zemamra players opened the scoring in the 13th minute thanks to Zakaria Bahrou, who took advantage of a defensive error from El Yousfi. Two minutes later, Amine Azri doubled the lead after exploiting a new flaw in the visitors’ defensive system. Despite this complicated start, COD Meknes reduced the gap in the 31st minute through Mouad Gollouss, well served by Zakaria Bahrou.
In the second half, Zemamra players maintained their offensive pressure, but it was COD Meknes who found the fault. In the 70th minute, Anas El Mahraoui converted a penalty awarded after consultation with the VAR, bringing the two teams level. However, Zemamra regained the lead in the 80th minute thanks to a decisive header from Mahamadou Camara, thus sealing the victory for the locals.
With this success, Renaissance Zemamra temporarily climbs to second place in the ranking with 28 points, while COD Meknes, following a third consecutive defeat, remains stuck at 17 points, in 13th place.
