This is one of the reasons why Fredberg was let go

Jesper Fredberg was pushed out by Wouter Vandenhaute at RSC Anderlecht. The former RSCA Sports CEO had nevertheless formed a solid core. But he failed to achieve certain imposed objectives.

Fredberg has made RSCA a title-playing team. It happened when Vandenhaute and Verbeke made the wrong choices on a sporting level, after Kompany was also pushed towards the exit by the former.

Outgoing transfers to Anderlecht

Fredberg came to clear the rubble and today Anderlecht are once again a top team worthy of the name. This season, Vandenhaute decided to forgo the Danish connection. The appointment of David Hubert in place of Brian Riemer is a good choice for the moment, as to whether the choice of Jesper Fredberg was the right one, we cannot yet say more.

Vandenhaute revealed that some goals were not achieved. This is mainly about selling players. Dries Bervoet, journalist at De Tijd, tells in the Radio Radzinski podcast that Anderlecht were thinking of an outgoing transfer summer of around 25-30 million euros.

Stroeykens next departure

With the sale of Zeno Debast and Kristian Arnstad, plus additional money from the sale of Lucas Stassin (RSCA had a resale percentage), RSCA raised around €20 million. Fredberg therefore did not have a sufficient budget to be truly “aggressive” on the transfer market.

Jan-Carlo Simic, who was spotted by the RSCA via Transferroom, became the only paid transfer. For now, all the transfers seem to be bearing fruit, even Mathias Jörgensen is doing well after difficult weeks.

Olivier Renard knows what to do in summer: sell to get money. Mario Stroeykens will have to be the big outgoing transfer. In an ideal world, the Champions League budget will come with it, but there will still need to be one more top-level season before that.
