The 9th and last day before the break therefore smiled on Soignies and Dendermonde. The first two won with bonuses, unlike Kituro third. At home, the ROC held on to Soignies until the break. Or at least just before. After a penalty try after less than 10 minutes of play, the Sonegiens will have to wait until the 40th minute to widen the gap, via a new try by Antoine Vegis (3-17).
The Carriers then first took off in the second half with a try from Thomas Hendrickx (3-25) before the Ottintois revived the suspense a little by flattening twice in the space of 7 minutes (15-25 ). However, this did not further disturb the Greens who assured their victory during the last 20 minutes, Antoine Vegis again and Jacques Genin touching the promised land (15-37).
Soignies therefore won the honorary title of autumn champion with 39 points in the standings, with a record of 8 successes in 9 matches. Or the same as Dendermonde, second. The defending champions also took a victory. They indeed won against La Hulpe in a clash between regulars in the last four in recent seasons. Defeated by a score of 28-14 at the Sint-Gillis Complex, the La Hulpois conceded a third consecutive setback and fell into line in the standings.
They now find themselves eighth, overtaken by a team from Frameries which ends its year with two great victories. A week after taking the measure of ASUB, the Charbon et Or this time defeated Boitsfort and thus remain undefeated at home this season.
However, the Boitsfortois came within a minute of leaving the Cité Piérard with their morale pumped up. After a generally balanced first half (10-7) marked by tries from Charles Depasse in the 6th and Léopold Roobaert in the 10th, Romain Ziani gave the BRC the advantage in the 47th (10-14) . But Noé Finfe was responsible for making a highlight for the Yellows and Blacks eight minutes later (17-14).
Showing a big desire since the start of the game, Frameries then took a slight advantage in the game. Charles Depasse took advantage of this to pass one penalty out of two (20-14). Boitsfort then had to react, and managed to do so by getting back in front 12 minutes from time, with a try from Rhys Reiri transformed by Guillaume De Schuyter (20-21). The end of the match, under tension, saw Frameries put the pressure back on. Boitsfort turned his back and resisted… until the last minute and a departure from Luis Casagrande who sped into the goal to offer his team a deserved success in the end (27-21).
Frameries therefore moves up the ranking, like the ASUB. The fifteen from Waterloo had not won since their good performance against Dendermonde and remained on a draw at Boitsfort and a setback at Frameries. Facing Coq Mosan, the residents of Pachy left nothing to chance and ended the year on a good note, winning 43 to 7. They thus returned to the level of Boitsfort in fourth place and relaunched in a race in the promising top 6 with only 6 points between 4th and 8th.
At the break, the Kituro was sort of sailing between two waters, in third position. Slightly detached behind Soignies and Dendermonde, but now also with a small gap in front of its closest pursuers. The Schaerbeek phalanx takes its leave with a third victory in a row, which it achieved in the second half. Because Liège did better than defend itself in the capital, and even led at orange time (20-22). Kituro, however, managed to turn things around afterwards to win 36 to 29. Left with a (good) defensive bonus point, Sang et Marine joined Coq Mosan in the standings.
So now it’s time for the winter break. The resumption will ring on January 19, with two alignment matches on the program. First day of the return phase of the championship, the 10th day will take place on January 25 and 26.
