The match: Griezmann stifles Slovan
The native of Mâcon may well be the top scorer in Atlético history, but his inspirations in the box never cease to surprise opposing defenders, and those of Slovan were no exception. On his first goal, Griezmann showed welcome opportunism, winning with a header against the more massive Guram Kashia (1.85 against 1.76 for the Frenchman), to take a cross with a touch of Marcos Llorente after a marvelous cross from Pablo Barrios (42nd). On the second, the Madrid number 7 let his silky left foot do the talking, controlling from the outside a clever pass from Koke in the open area, before finishing with the flat of his foot from a tight angle (57th). He thus scored his fourth goal of the season in the Champions League, his eleventh in all competitions.
