Celebrini wants to continue her streak
Macklin Celebrini will try to pick up a point in a sixth straight game when the San Jose Sharks visit the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena (7 p.m. ET; FDSNSUN, NBCSCA).
The first overall pick in the last draft is having a sensational debut in the NHL. He has eight points (four goals, four assists) in the last five games, and if he gets on the scoresheet tonight, he would become just the third 18-year-old to record a streak at least six games in a row with a point, after Connor McDavid (7 games in 2015-16) and Patrik Laine (6 games in 2016-17).
At the same time, the Sharks (10-13-5) will try to sign a fourth consecutive victory for the first time since the 2021-22 season.
The Lightning (12-9-2) will be without star player Nikita Kucherov for a second straight game, but will welcome the return of forward Nick Paul, who missed the last six games due to injury at the bottom of the body.
Tampa Bay hasn’t played since Saturday and is 2-3-1 in its last six games.
