The disciplinary committee of the Swiss League ruled and rejected the protest filed by Neuchâtel Xamax this Monday following the match against FC Thun. You can find below the elements mentioned by the SFL:

As a reminder, on Monday, Neuchâtel Xamax FCS officially confirmed its protest filed after the match on November 22 against FC Thun (2-3). According to the “red and black” club, the referee made a technical error in validating the equalizer in the 89th minute – on an autogoal from Euclides Cabral – having previously called a foul. The Xamaxian leaders asked to replay the meeting.

This Thursday, the SFL Disciplinary Commission rejects the protest of the Neuchâtel club. She believes “that the referee was legitimately able to consider that the ball was no longer in play – therefore behind the goal line – at the time of his whistle.” And to continue: “moreover, a possible error by the referee in this regard would fall within his discretion and would therefore not constitute a technical fault.”

This decision is final for the authorities of the Swiss Football League.
