Social impact through sport as a legacy of the 2024 Games

Involved in the bid for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in the Impact and Legacy section, the NGO PLAY International is continuing its commitment by organizing a new solidarity auction. The funds will help finance educational and inclusive projects. Among the contributing athletes, several participated and were medalists during this last Olympics. But what if their rights had not been defended as children? Victor Wembanyama would not be Olympic vice-champion, Teddy Riner would not have won his third Olympic title and Marie Patouillet would not have obtained her first Paralympic gold medal.

Defending the rights of children, particularly access to play and sport, means making the dreams of future champions come true. But above all it allows them to grow and develop in the best conditions.

Exclusive sporting and artistic objects

To defend children’s rights, for two weeks, PLAY International is offering sports enthusiasts and collectors of artistic works the chance to treat themselves to exclusive prizes via the site www.vermotetassociates.com. Some objects represent a facet of their personality, others have led them to an Olympic or Paralympic medal. (To) treat yourself to one of these objects is to treat yourself to a “piece” of these great champions, especially as the Christmas holidays approach.

Sport to transmit while playing

The donations collected will contribute to financing PLAY International projects.

The NGO PLAY International was founded in 1999, under the name Sport sans Frontières, on the basis of a strong conviction: sport is a powerful lever for education, development and social inclusion for young people. Its ambition is to permanently change the behavior of children to make them the enlightened citizens of tomorrow and unleash the extraordinary potential of sport.

To achieve this, it works on a daily basis, with institutional partners and in the field with the missions of:

1. Promote the inclusion of the most vulnerable populations.

2. Promote and facilitate access to sports practice as a source of physical and mental well-being.

3. Raise awareness and give young people the means to respond to social issues and promote living together.

4. Demonstrate and convince that sport is a powerful lever for development

At the heart of its action: sport to transmit through play, to release everyone’s potential, to have a positive impact on life courses and provide the keys to building a more inclusive, fairer, more sustainable future.
