A dark story at the heart of a famous bakery in the capital.
Frédéric Pichard (59 years old) died on October 26 in Eure-et-Loir, reports Le Parisien. The famous Parisian baker, winner of the best pain au chocolat in Greater Paris in 2016, committed suicide. He was discovered the next day by his wife in their second home. He is said to have swallowed more than 210 tablets (antidepressants and antipsychotics) and did not leave a letter of explanation.
Three days earlier he had been indicted for rape by a person having authority over his ex-daughter-in-law, the wife of his son Geoffrey at the time of the events. The investigation lasted four years and the procedure ends there, the accused having now died. The former daughter-in-law should still bring an action for state liability for the slowness of the procedure. Geoffrey Pichard was placed on October 25 under the status of assisted witness.
Back to the facts
February 2020, Frédéric Pichard is indicted for sexual assault on a minor aged 15, by a person in authority, sexual harassment and moral harassment. The same day, his son Geoffrey (34 years old) was also indicted for sexual assault on a minor under the age of 15, sexual assault and harassment. It's the beginning of the end for the artisan family who cries scandal.
But that's not all. Thalia (34 years old), the former daughter-in-law of Frédéric Prichard comes out of silence. She accuses this “guru” of having raped her for 15 years, from 2005, without the knowledge of her husband who also allegedly abused her. In total, five victims (including three minors) filed a complaint against Frédéric Pichard for sexual harassment and assault. Three other victims filed a complaint against Geoffrey Pichard. The two artisans were released under judicial supervision.
Frédéric Pichard sold his bakery after these first revelations.
