R1. OC Montauban – Ploërmel FC : 2-2
The first clear opportunity was for Montauban. Tirel thus came up against the Morbihan goalkeeper (9′). And yet, it was Ploërmel who opened the scoring through Bonno with a low shot (0-1, 13′). Same music a few minutes later, as Manzano doubled the lead with a long-range shot (0-2, 32′). Dominant, Ploërmel missed the mark through Do Amaral (39′). Returning from the locker room, Bastien gave hope to the Bretillian team with a powerful shot (1-2, 56′).
Although the two teams were dangerous in turn, it was ultimately Montauban who equalized thanks to a recovery from Lechartre (2-2, 79′).
“We get what we deserve”
Jérôme Maret, the Morbihan coach, regretted the lack of consistency of his players: “We get what we deserve today. We thwarted in the second half and we didn’t feel like a calm team. The desire was to play in their camp, but all the players backed down. We are incapable of lasting in the distance. We do good things but we have a problem with consistency. We failed to adapt to the context, to the opponent and that’s a shame.”
