Dr. Hassan Tazi, famous cosmetic surgeon in Morocco, has resumed the normal course of his activities in his clinic. He continues to carry out cosmetic procedures there while following the progress of his appeal trial, linked to serious accusations which have marked public opinion.
A close source, contacted by Hespress FRconfirmed that Dr. Tazi made the decision a few weeks ago to return to his profession. He has resumed his surgical operations with the same team as before the crisis, indicated this source, emphasizing that the ordeals experienced have strengthened the cohesion between the surgeon and his collaborators.
Furthermore, the doctor’s professional agenda is already ” complete“, a sign that his notoriety remains intact despite the controversies. Determined to regain his place on the professional scene, Dr. Tazi also reactivated his presence on social networks, where he was previously very active, in particular to promote his services.
On the legal front, the case involving Dr. Hassan Tazi and his co-defendants experienced new developments last Friday. The Criminal Appeal Chamber, competent in matters of financial crimes at the Casablanca Court of Appeal, has decided to postpone the trial until November 29. This decision was taken following the sudden discomfort of lawyer Mohammed Snaoui, a member of the defense team. His colleagues then insisted on the importance of his presence to guarantee a complete defense.
Lawyer Fatima Zahra El Brahimi, representing Dr. Tazi, said the defense was preparing to re-present the case in court. She reiterated the position of her clients, who plead their innocence regarding the accusations against them, and expressed her incomprehension regarding the severity of the sentences handed down at first instance.
As a reminder, last month, the first instance criminal chamber of the Casablanca appeal court sentenced Dr. Tazi to three years in prison, two of which were suspended and one suspended. Although he was cleared of the human trafficking charge, he was convicted of tampering with testimony. The other defendants in this case also received sentences ranging from 3 to 5 years in prison.
In his statements, Me El Brahimi insisted on the fact that these sanctions were “ disproportionate » in relation to the alleged facts, while announcing that the legal team intends to speed up the appeal procedure.
The lawyer also specified that the defense intends to discuss the facts in detail, “ from their origin to their conclusion“, presenting tangible evidence and documents to support his position. “ We will carefully examine the facts mentioned in the reports and their correspondence with the accusations made.“, she added.
