Formula 1 | Wolff: ‘It feels good’ to score the double by ‘dominating’

Toto Wolff welcomed Mercedes ’s double in Las Vegas, after a race won by George Russell ahead of Lewis Hamilton. The Brackley team principal is happy that his drivers have set their pace to dominate.

“It’s good to come back with a double, and I’m happy with the way we got there because we dominated the race. There were laps during which we were two seconds faster and that feels good” Wolff declared to Canal+, recalling in passing that the criticism of Hamilton in Brazil was unfounded.

“I think the people who criticized Lewis saw that he has the speed and the maturity. We saw that even after a qualification during which he was less fit, he managed to get back to the podium.”

The Austrian also praised Max Verstappen’s title: “He is very strong, he deserves the championship. He is a great champion, he won the title in the first part of the year and he managed to handle it well.”
