Last year in the pros, last Tour de France pour Simon Geschke. The 37-year-old German rider announced that he was leaving the peloton for good at the start of the year, also the 111th Big loop will have, for him, an even more special flavor. “The first stage will be very hot, analyse Simon Geschke at a press conference. I like heat more than cold. But of course, when it’s 35 degrees, I suffer too. But Saturday is also a great chance to have the mountain jersey. Why not ? But it all depends on how the race develops. My goals are always the same. I want to finish, but above all to support Guillaume Martin. It has already been Top 10 a few times, which is a great result for us.”
And since it’s his last, Story also took a quick look back at his best memory, his stage victory in 2015 at Pra-Loup. “I have other good memories, as support for Tom Dumoulin, Warren Barguil or Michael Matthews. But this stage success, itIt was the number one moment of my career. The Tower is very special to me. JI am very happy to be here one last time. I will not end my career after the Tour.” He concludes : “Cycling has changed a lot since 2009 (his first Tour de France). It’s very different now. Everyone must change with sportand the innovation that brings it. If you ignore all this, your performance will decrease.”
