Thanks to Ty Jerome’s 29 points, the Cleveland Cavaliers reacted well after their first defeat by largely dominating the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday (128-100), remaining the best team at the start of the NBA season.
After seeing their 15-game winning streak stopped by the Boston Celtics on Tuesday (120-117), the Cavs controlled the game against the Pelicans from start to finish at home. Leader in the East ahead of Boston, Cleveland (16 wins, 1 loss) regained its three-point success against the penultimate in the Western Conference. Jerome notably managed a 7/12 at long distance.

Antetokounmpo carries the Bucks
In other matches, Giannis Antetokounmpo achieved his third game with more than 40 points of the season, with 41 points, nine rebounds and eight assists during the Milwaukee Bucks’ victory against the Chicago Bulls (122-106).
Alongside Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez (21 points) and Damian Lillard (20 points) stood out to allow the Bucks to string together a second victory to improve their record (6 wins, nine losses) and climb to 10e place to the east.
Embiid is not enough
In Memphis against the Grizzlies, Joel Embiid’s 35 points were not enough to avoid a fifth defeat in a row for the Philadelphia 76ers (117-111). Interior Guerschon Yabusele scored 17 points (6/8 shooting) when Paul George, injured in the left knee, only played one half.

Philadelphia, which has won only two games for twelve defeats, remains last in the East despite its star’s best season score.
The Knicks continue
The New York Knicks scored a fourth victory in a row against the Phoenix Suns (138-122), who remain on five defeats, to climb to third place in the East. Jalen Brunson (36 points) and Karl-Anthony Towns (34) carried the Knicks.
At the top of the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors dominated the Atlanta Hawks 120-97 to improve their record (11-3). Frenchman Zacharie Risacher scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Hawks. Just behind, the Oklahoma City Thunder continued to press the Warriors with their victory against the Portland Trail Blazers 109-99.
