Despite a double degree in Spanish/Communication, I decided to take my dreams into my own hands by moving towards journalism. With a master’s degree in sports journalism, I cover sports and football news with as much admiration as ever for the transfer window, when a club must make crucial choices for next season.

PSG’s summer transfer window could be marked by some departures. For several days, the name of Manuel Ugarte has been coming up insistently on the Manchester United side, the Red Devils being very interested in the Uruguayan international. Problem, the Parisian club would expect at least €60M for its defensive midfielder, while the Mancunian club would only have €80M to complete two transfers. Explanation.

Last summer, the PSG had made several bets. One of them was Manuel Ugarte. Very talented, the defensive midfielder was recruited from Sporting CP against the large sum of €60M which corresponded to the amount of his release clause. After a first season of adaptation in the capital, the Uruguayan international was not completely convinced, and was often left on the bench by Luis Enrique in the second half of the season, after having had a very impressive start in the Parisian jersey.

PSG could sell Ugarte this summer

From there to imagining a departure this summer for Manuel Ugarte ? Possible according to the latest information from the journalist Fabrizio Romano. On X (ex-Twitter), the latter revealed that in the event of a good offer, number 4 could clearly be sold. For the moment, Manchester United seems to be the club most interested in Ugarte. For his part, Ben Jacobs revealed on YouTube that the PSG clearly hoped to recover its initial investment (€60 million) if the player was sold.

Manchester United could lack funds to sign Uruguayan

But the English journalist also revealed a problem with this operation. Indeed, the Mancunian leaders would have as a priority the recruitment of a central defender and a center forward, and above all, would have planned “only” €80M for these very specific needs. It remains to be seen whether the PSG will be willing to review its price downwards for Manuel Ugarte
