Alpine skiing. When Cyprien Sarrazin, Clément Noël and Johan Clarey play… golf on the Streif in Kitzbühel!

Unusual morning for Cyprien Sarrazin, Clément Noël and Johan Clarey this Thursday in Kitzbühel. The French trio was able to play… golf on the famous Streif, a legendary downhill track.

La Streif put on her summer outfit. Even repainted green, the most famous track of the World Cup remains impressive. From top to bottom. With its legendary passages like the Mausefalle, the Steilhang, the Seidalm and the Hausbergkante. This Thursday morning, under the clouds, the sun and just before a heavy downpour, three tricolor heroes of Kitzbühel, Cyprien Sarrazin, Clément Noël and Johan Clarey, were able to walk the slope of their exploits, sneakers on their feet and… clubs at the ready. hand. Like in Kitz, we don’t do anything like everyone else, it is possible to play golf there once a year!

12 holes in the slope

For the occasion, before finishing on a “real” course, no less than 12 holes were placed on this extraordinary course. Be careful, it’s going downhill! Accustomed to the winter version of the place, the two go-getters and the slalom rider were accompanied in their competition of the day by the German Linus Strasser, winner of the last slalom in Kitz, the day after the fabulous double of “Cyp”, accompanied in Austria by Valentin Giraud-Moine, his manager and very good golfer (placed in a competing team), and his father, who happily played caddy.

Cyprien Sarrazin is a fashionable golfer

“Where he had cut everything”

The shock quartet therefore chained the shots (sometimes good ones), lost a few bullets in the wild, and had a good laugh. With a bib on their back, the cracks on the slopes, all passionate about the little white ball, naturally took to the game. Sarrazin and Clarey also happily returned to their playground with such impressive passages. “There is still a slope,” assures Johan Clarey. “It’s less difficult than winter but it’s still difficult when you’re not a great golf player,” says Sarrazin with a smile, who was able to regain his bearings on his legendary passage of the Steilhang, “where he had cut everything out,” recalls Johan Clarey with relish, who knows the place like the back of his first anorak. An informed viewer of the descent, Clément Noël was able to benefit from their experience of the trajectories. With Linus Strasser, the winner of the slalom in 2019 was also able to invite them to the start of the Ganslern, the cousin and neighbor track of the great Streif.

37 shots in total

The four big names, who happily posed for photos in the middle of the course with waitresses from a mountain restaurant in traditional outfits, completed their original course, on a final green, placed just after the finish line, with a total of 37 shots (7 over par). To win, you will have to come back. “We can’t win the first time on the Streif,” summarizes Clément Noël with a smile. “You still need experience here,” according to Johan Clarey.

Evening at the Londoner and cabins Friday

And after a short break, Sarrazin and co returned to their clubs for a small game at the start of the afternoon before continuing their stay in Kitzbühel, passing in the evening at the famous Londoner. Then Friday morning, Cyprien Sarrazin (double winner in downhill in 2024) and Clément Noël (slalom winner in 2019) will receive their cabin in their name as local tradition dictates. More, this Thursday morning, the Blues have already climbed into cabin number 59 in the name of Clément Noêl….
