Yamaha and Pramac join forces, horizon 2031!

The Japanese manufacturer will supply two bikes to the Italian team starting from the 2025 season. The agreement would last seven years.

All that was missing was the official press release to confirm the news. It was sent to us by the Prima Pramac Racing team this Friday, at just before 5pm and while the MotoGP riders had just finished the practice session for the Dutch Grand Prix. Paolo Campinoti’s team will leave Ducati and join Yamaha from 2025.

A long-term project has just been born between the two entities since we are talking about a seven-year agreement: the two to come, plus the five from the introduction of the new regulation in 2027. The confession came from Campinoti to our Italian colleagues from GPone this Friday morning. An argument which weighed in the balance, Ducati having offered two additional years to Pramac. The Japanese manufacturer will go from two to four machines on the grid, and promises to provide official motorcycles to future pilots, “which will be announced in due course”.

“The goals are to accelerate the development of the bike and to have four competitive riders in two top teams in MotoGP”argues Lin Jarvis, boss of Yamaha Motor Racing. The Briton also reveals the implementation of a “future Moto2 project to provide a platform that will train future MotoGP riders. It is too early to give details regarding this program, it will be developed in the coming months”.
