The Yamaha – Pramac marriage announced in Italy

Italian television Sky, which broadcasts the Grands Prix in the country of Valentino Rossi, suggests that an agreement has been reached between Yamaha and the Pramac Racing team.

One of the most important soap operas in the MotoGP transfer market may be coming to an end. And its final scene would confirm the fears recently expressed by Ducati Corse CEO Gigi Dall’Igna. The Prima Pramac Racing team, which has been working with the Italian manufacturer since 2004, has reportedly chosen to pack its bags and join Yamaha.

If GP-Inside learned of serious discussions between Yamaha and Paolo Campinoti’s team in mid-May, rumors on this subject have intensified in recent days. Pramac, which hoped for the arrival of Marc Marquez to compensate for the departure of Jorge Martin, would be on the verge of announcing its change of manufacturer. Our colleagues from Italian television Sky are the first to affirm that the deal is concluded.

From what GP-Inside understands to date, this transfer is accompanied by economic terms more favorable to the team. It would allow Lin Jarvis to accomplish the last major objective set for him at the helm of Yamaha Motor Racing: for the Japanese brand to find a satellite team from 2025.

As we reported in May, the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team would be one of the beneficiaries of the deal. Pramac has until now benefited from preferential treatment compared to other teams, with the allocation of two official motorcycles (i.e. from the current year).
