The group stage of the Nations League delivered its verdict this Tuesday with 9 matches on the program. In Group 3 of League A, Germany, already qualified, was held to the wire by Hungary (1-1) thanks to a panenka from the penalty spot by Szoboszlai (90+9th, sp). At the same time, the Netherlands, assured of playing in the quarter-finals, were also held in check by Bosnia-Herzegovina (1-1).
Regarding Pool 1 of League B, the Czech Republic, promoted to League A, finished with a victory against Georgia (2-1) despite a goal from Mikautadze (60th). Ukraine, by dominating Albania (2-1), takes 2nd place with an accession play-off to come. Within group 4, Wales achieved their promotion to League A by outclassing Iceland (4-1) including a double from Cullen (32nd, 45+1)! The Welsh especially benefited from the poor performance of Turkey, beaten by Montenegro (1-3) and sent to the accession play-off.
Finally, Sweden, already promoted to League B, humiliated Azerbaijan (6-0) with a quadruple from Gyökeres (26th, 37th, 58th, 70th) in Pool 1 of League C! For its part, Slovakia, 2nd, provided minimum service against Estonia (1-0). Also note the draw without the slightest consequence in the ranking between Malta and Andorra (0-0) in group 2 of league D.
