Portugal’s two potential opponents in the 8th round

As the posters for the round of 16 of Euro 2024 begin to take shape, Portugal, which fell to the side of the “death” table, now has only two potential opponents.

Two victories, a qualification in the 8th and a first place assured: Portugal was a hit during the first two days of Euro 2024. However, this good start to the course takes on the air of a poisoned gift since in the event of passage in quarter-finals, the Seleção could potentially clash with the French team, then, still hypothetically, Germany or Spain in the semi-finals

But before planning for the future, the Lusitanian team still has a round of 16 to play (and a last group match this evening, against Georgia), facing a better third, from groups A, B or C The third in group B (Croatia) being out of the race, only that of group A, Hungary, and that of group C, Slovenia, remains.

And to know which of the two selections will face Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates, it’s simple: Portugal will face Slovenia in the event of a defeat against Georgia OR if the Czech Republic beats Turkey by less than 3 goals. If neither of these two scenarios comes true, then it will be Hungary.
