After the team’s victory against UBB (59-3) this Friday evening at the Stade Vélodrome, during the Top 14 final, Ugo Mola did not hesitate to tackle certain remarks.

Toulouse largely dominated UBB this Friday evening (59-3), during the Top 14 final. The red and black club claimed its 23rd Brennus Shield and achieved a new Top 14-Europe championship double after 1996 and 2021. Coach Ugo Mola returned to the match at a press conference and sent a message… which was out of the ordinary: “We will try to take advantage of it and then we will obviously prepare for the rest because we were already eagerly awaited, we were a little disturbing given what I heard here and there, the thoughts on refereeing that were not very well felt by certain commentators who honestly would have been better off keeping their mouths shut.” he insisted to the press.

Bloody remarks which seem to have been aimed, according to La Dépêche, at journalist Pierre Salviac, rugby commentator at France Télévisions. The audiovisual group had dismissed him in 2005.

A message posted on X at the origin of this anger?

Why did Ugo Mola make these comments? The journalist specializing in oval balls had posted a message on his X account (formerly Twitter) concerning the semi-final (June 21) between Toulouse and La Rochelle, won 39-23 by the Toulouse club.

Pierre Salviac had questioned the bias of the match referee, Tual Trainini: “Is Mr. Trainini, referee of Toulouse vs La Rochelle, an Airbus employee as is being whispered in my ear? Please answer! When will you referee you this debate President Bouscatel (president of the LNR)?” Words which, visibly, stuck in Ugo Mola’s throat.
