The government published, on Sunday June 23, texts allowing the payment of additional bonuses of up to 1,500 euros to several categories of civil servants mobilized within the framework of the Olympic (JO) or Paralympic (JOP) Games in Paris.

A decree and an order establish the “temporary increase, as part of the preparation and holding of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, of the regulatory maximum amounts of certain bonuses and compensation” intended for civil servants.

Around 100,000 public officials mobilized for the Olympics

In March, the government announced that bonuses of 500 euros (“temporary increase in activity” et ” constraint “ punctual on leave), 1,000 euros (“temporary increase in activity” and constraint “sustained”) and 1,500 euros (mobilization “particularly high, over time” et « forte limitation » days off) would be planned depending on the impact of the Games on the activity of the service and the taking of leave.

This is in addition to several other support measures planned during the Olympic (July 26-August 11) and Paralympic (August 28-September 8) Games, such as, among other things, more teleworking. Nearly 100,000 public employees will be directly mobilized for the Olympics, the Minister of the Civil Service, Stanislas Guerini, announced at the end of April.

The texts concern a long list of civil servants, notably from the state civil service, for whom the « prime JO » is based on the existing system of bonuses and allowances, the maximum amounts of which are increased for 2024. For law enforcement, the « prime JO »announced in January and increased to 1,900 euros for police officers and gendarmes working in Ile-de-France, was confirmed in a letter co-signed by the Prime Minister, Gabriel Attal, and the Minister of the interior, Gérald Darmanin.
