Winners of their third match of the season, Dax and Biarritz distanced themselves from Grenoble, swept away in Aurillac.

Dax keeps its hand at the top of Pro D2. Winner by the smallest of margins at home against Colombiers (25-24), US Dax chained a third victory in as many matches this Friday, on the occasion of the third day of the championship. An immaculate record identical to that of Biarritz Olympique, who won a few minutes later in Aguilera against Oyonnax (19-13), which continues its complicated start to the season (two defeats).

The big surprise of the evening is to be credited to Aurillac, who overcame co-leader Grenoble by a landslide (42-19).We forgot to get off the bus,” lamented Isère coach Nicolas Nadau after a first half that was completely the opposite of his flock in Cantal. Beaten last year by Montpellier in the play-offs, Grenoble will be keen to react in a week at the Stade des Alpes, against the surprising leader from Dax.

Stade Montois still without a win

Surprised at home by Stade Niçois last week in the emotion of the tribute to Medhi Narjissi, SU Agen recovered well by winning on the Mont-de-Marsan pitch (23-28). A Stade Montois in danger with a third defeat in as many games, as for Valence Romans, also beaten at home by Béziers (22-29).

For its part, the promoted Nice team was unable to capitalise on its victory at Armandie and fell again at home, beaten by Soyaux Angoulème (24-39), who took advantage of Grenoble’s defeat to climb onto the podium behind the Dax-Biarritz duo.
