Jack Miller argues that constant changes to the MotoGP calendar are counterproductive. He believes the mess in the 2024 MotoGP calendar is becoming tiring, especially with three notable changes occurring in the first half of the season. These changes resulted in the cancellation of the Argentine Grand Prix due to funding issues, the postponement of the race in Kazakhstan due to extreme flooding, and the cancellation of the Indian Grand Prix, opening up an opportunity for the Sokol International Circuit. Miller, who will leave the KTM team next year, says these constant changes to the calendar are more detrimental than beneficial to the series. He expresses hope that this is the end of this, but acknowledges that only time will tell.

Despite the changes to the calendar, Miller explains that it does not affect his or other MotoGP riders’ preparation for the race weekends. He takes one race at a time and focuses on his training and his plan for the year’s grands prix. Although he acknowledges that placing higher in the rankings can change his perspective, he says that, for the moment, the changes in the calendar have not had a significant impact on him. He emphasizes that these changes are not exclusive to this year and that drivers always establish a plan at the beginning of the year, for which they train.

The postponement of the Kazakhstan Grand Prix led to a three-week break after the race in Mugello. The next race in Assen is scheduled for the end of this month. The 2024 MotoGP calendar includes back-to-back races at Assen and Sachsenring, followed by the traditional three-week summer break, then races at Silverstone and the 75th Anniversary.
