Friday June 14, 2024, on the occasion of the general assembly of the club rugby of Pontivy, it was with enormous emotion that Serge Biscaro, coach for five years, presented his successors to the position of senior manager. “It’s time for me to hand over,” he said.
It is by a pair that the senior group will be led from the start of the school year in September with Didier Bonnet et Franck Kosel.
A former professional player in Pontivy
The first is a former professional player who played for many clubs such as Perpignan, Béziers, and Marmande. Back then number 10, he also played at RC Vannes in Fédérale 2 and at Grand-Champ (R1).
Then, he coached several clubs in the region, such as Vannes, or Muzillac last season in tandem with Franck Kosel.
With the Muzillac team, the duo obtained two Brittany Cup titles in two seasons.
Objective climb to R2
Didier Bonnet says: “Coming to Pontivy is a choice of the heart. We talked a lot with Serge and it’s a new challenge for me. The objective will be to do as well as this year, that is to say finish first in the group and move the club up to R2. »
Same story with former military international Franck Kosel, who passed through Dax, Verdun and Châteauroux.
It’s going to be tough this year, but you have the potential. It’s not us who are going to get the rise, it’s you. And you will have to give 100%.
The first balloon exchanges will take place in mid-August, before things get underway on September 4.
