In discussions for the transfer of Rayan Cherki, Paris Saint-Germain did not convince Olympique Lyonnais with its first offer. Negotiations between the two directions will continue. But whatever happens, the Rhone club wants to push its attacking midfielder towards the exit.
The information may be surprising and yet, Paris Saint-Germain has indeed fallen for Rayan Cherki. Sports advisor Luis Campos has a weakness for the Olympique Lyonnais attacking midfielder, as does coach Luis Enrique who has already spoken with his target. The capital club has therefore sent a first offer for the international Espoirs tricolor. A proposal estimated at 15 million euros (bonus included) and refused by the Rhone management.
The unwanted Cherki
Not enough to put an end to the discussions since the two parties still hope to reach an agreement. The blockage would simply come from the resale percentage claimed by Olympique Lyonnais. Nothing insurmountable especially as John Textor’s club will do nothing to prevent the departure of Rayan Cherki. For several months, the pure Gones product has been announced as leaving because of his contractual situation. The playmaker arrives one year from the end of his contract. And the extension offered by his managers, with a compensable salary reduction depending on his performance, did not convince the player.
This refusal would almost represent good news for certain Lyon leaders. Indeed, Le 10 Sport reveals that decision-makers in Lyon want Rayan Cherki to leave. In question, his profile and his personality deemed incompatible with the plans of coach Pierre Sage. In other words, whether or not the discussions are successful with Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique Lyonnais will ensure that the Bleuet does not return to the group after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
