Verstappen won a thrilling, rain-spiced Canadian GP to regain (his?) first place in an F1 race. The three-time Dutch world champion thus signed his 60th success in the premier category of motor racing. The race, launched on a wet track, saw the safety car deployed twice after going off the road. The drivers had to change tires several times, with the track finally drying out in the last third of the event.
But in the end, it was Verstappen who emerged, as he often does, to win his sixth Grand Prix in 2014. He beat Lando Norris, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.
Esteban Ocon will leave Alpine at the end of the season
French driver Esteban Ocon (27) will leave the Alpine team at the end of the season. He was coming to the end of his contract and it will not be renewed.
This announcement is not surprising. Ocon had been in turmoil for some time, and his collision with his teammate and compatriot Pierre Gasly in the first round of the Monaco GP therefore actually had consequences. The separation was made by mutual agreement, according to Alpine.

In the week before the Canadian GP, Red Bull announced that it had extended Sergio Pérez for 2 years. Yuki Tsunoda for one more season with RB
The Japanese Yuki Tsunoda (24 years old) will still drive for the Racing Bulls team in 2025. The Red Bull partner team activated the option it had to retain the driver, present in Formula 1 since 2021.I’m very happy to stay at Racing Bulls and it’s nice to know my future so early in the season. The team has a big development project and I am delighted to be part of it“, said Tsunoda. The Japanese competed in 71 Grands Prix with the Racing Bulls team, formerly AlphaTauri. His best result to date is a fourth place obtained in Abu Dhabi in 2021.
