Infirmary: New important step for Lucas Hernandez

Infirmary: New important step for Lucas Hernandez

Seriously injured in his left knee on May 1, Lucas Hernandez is preparing to return to collective training at PSG. An important step before a return to competition, which he does not want to rush.

Lucas Hernandez sees the end of the tunnel. Six and a half months after his rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in Dortmund, in the Champions League semi-final first leg, the 28-year-old Parisian defender is on the verge of returning to Luis Enrique's collective training sessions. The 2018 world champion has already been training since this week with the Espoirs group, like Presnel Kimpembe and Gonçalo Ramos.

According to Le Parisien, Lucas Hernandez no longer has any pain in his left knee and should resume collective training with the first team next week, once the internationals return from the break. As the regional daily had already revealed last month, the versatile 28-year-old French defender is ahead of his convalescence time and the protocol established by the PSG medical staff.

Lucas Hernandez soon back in training, but not yet in a match

If his return to collective training is imminent and some at the club hope to see him play again by the end of the 2024 calendar year, Lucas Hernandez still has steps to take before returning to competition. A return that he does not want to rush according to the newspaper. It is therefore not yet a question at this stage that he will be in the group against on November 22 or against Bayern Munich four days later in the Champions League.

But the news from the infirmary is good about him. Victim of a ruptured Achilles tendon in February 2023, Presnel Kimpembe has resumed group training for several weeks, but the date of his return to competition remains unknown. Injured in the left ankle on August 16, Gonçalo Ramos is close to a return to the field and there is even talk of him playing again on November 22 against Toulouse according to Le Parisien. This will require him to resume collective training with the first team, which could be the case next week, as for Lucas Hernandez.
