Marius Toscan will be present in the final of the 400m medley Monday evening at the Europeans in Belgrade. The St-Gallois signed the 6th time in the series. Competing in the 100m breaststroke Monday morning, Jérémy Desplanches reached the semi-finals.
Toscan (22 years old) swam in 4’18”91, 0”11 off his personal best set last December. Only 3 of the 8 finalists were faster in the heats, with 2 Hungarians out of the 4 registered not being allowed to line up in the final. But the St. Gallois will have to break his record to aim for the podium.
Jérémy Desplanches, for his part, won his ticket for the semi-finals of the 100m breaststroke by finishing 16th in the heats, in 1’01”36, a little over a second from his Swiss record in the specialty.
