Fanny Gosseye’s partners hardly gave the Malherbistes any breathing room. From the start, they were subjected to intense pressure and conceded set pieces. On the fifth, Desplanques, forgotten at the far post, inevitably opened the scoring (1-0, 5′).

Asphyxiated, and close to atony when the Rouennaises made the break through Alice Mallard (2-0, 20′). A perfect start to the match. “The kind of start to the match that we have had since the start of the season, appreciated the Rouen coach Youcef Chekkal. We quickly lead by two goals, with a little relaxation behind. »

A futile chase

A culpable negligence which Juliette Chotard did not benefit from on two shots which escaped the target. A lack of success partly corrected by Alizée Leroty who played with the exit of the goalkeeper who went on an adventure, to reduce the score in the empty goal (2-1, 36′). What revived the interest of the meeting until then mastered by the champions of R1, freshly promoted to N3.

” Regrets ? I think that we were not always 100% concerned by this event, lamented Caen coach Chloé Charlot. Getting motivated at the last moment was difficult. We didn’t put all the ingredients in there. We were too fair, in the tactical aspect with beginner errors… But we were not the only ones not to be at the level of such a final. »

Despite a refocus at the break, and three changes on the Caen side, the same errors produced the same effects. On a poorly returned corner, Perchey, far too alone, and on the verge of offside, adjusted the helpless goal of Stéphania Turyk. The Malherbistes, forced to react, were saved from a fourth goal refused for an illegal position.

Nothing seemed to destabilize the Seinomarines. Laroty, who went on a raid, was stopped at the last moment. But not Juliette Chotard who reduced the gap again with a quarter of an hour to go (3-2, 75′).

However, nothing to disrupt the collective control of their opponent, who could, and should, have increased the score. “We certainly missed opportunities, but without consequence… With the accession to N3, the double is deserved. I’m very happy for the girls”concluded Youcef Chekkal with a big smile.
