Last weekend took place in Brest, the final of the French N1 / Elite Twirling Baton Championship. The Aubin baton twirling club had a single qualified representative in this sector. This is Andy Soubiroux who was competing in Senior Men’s Solo for his first year in this category. After being runner-up medalist of France in duet N2 with his sister Djessy the weekend before, Anddy, accompanied by his trainer Morgane Fernandes, therefore defended his chance in this last performance. And what a performance, because the competition was strong. Through his technical skill and artistic sense, he managed to make a passage without any fall and to carry the audience with him. He was simply dazzling. The grades were even better than what the Aubinois group thought. In fact they were the best of the year. However, we had to wait for the other candidates to pass before the result fell: second place for the Aubinois. Anddy therefore became vice-champion of France in Senior Men’s Solo N1.

Great happiness for her coach Morgane Fernandes who once again sees her athlete climb onto the podium in a national final and leave as a silver medalist. Now there is still one more test and not the least important one. This is the European Twirling Cup from July 9 to 14 in Croatia. Selected by the French federation, Andy will defend the colors of the country in Solo Freestyle.
