The biggest transfer in OM history was indeed a flop. An agreement was reached with Genoa for a direct transfer of Vitinha this summer.

Barely 18 months after his arrival in Marseille from Braga for the tidy sum of 25 million euros – plus five to seven million in presumed bonuses – i.e. the biggest transfer in the history of the Marseille club, the Portuguese striker will officially leave Ciel et Blanc to join Genoa.
