Société Générale Maroc announced the appointment of Mehdi Benbachir as general manager and member of the management board. “The Supervisory Board of Société Générale Maroc, which met on May 23, 2024, appointed Mehdi Benbachir as general manager, effective July 1, 2024,” indicates Société Générale Maroc in a press release.
Before joining Société Générale Maroc, Benbachir worked for 6 years in investment banking, particularly in mergers and acquisitions and private equity. He joined Société Générale Maroc in 2005 within the Large Enterprises Department. In 2008, he was appointed head of the Consulting Department, where he supported corporate clients in their balance sheet transactions.
In 2013, he took charge of all Investment Banking activities, including Advisory, Trading Room, Securities, Stock Exchange Intermediation, Research, Asset Management and Private Equity. Benbachir was appointed, in 2018, Deputy General Manager in charge of the Investment Banking Business Unit and the Strategy/Marketing/Quality/Innovation Service Unit.
In July 2020, he became Deputy General Manager in charge of the Retail Business Unit and supervises the retail, professional and small business markets.
He was appointed member of the Management Board in December 2022 and general director on July 1, 2024, in charge of direct supervision of the regional delegations, the Retail BU, the SME BU and the Marketing Department, concludes the press release.
